The Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie
- ½ cup butter
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1⅓ cup flour
- ½ tsp. salt
- ½ tsp. baking soda
- ¾ cup chocolate chips (approximately)
Preheat the oven to 350°.
Cream together sugars and butter.
Add egg and vanilla and beat until smooth.
Mix in flour, salt, and baking soda until mixed.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Spoon onto a baking sheet.
Bake for 10-13 minutes.

I like to take them out when they are just lightly browning around the edges and still look a little under done and then let them firm up for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a cooling rack.
