JoAnn Craten – Director of Customer Service
JoAnnJoAnn lives in Idaho with her wonderful husband, Paul, and their two adult children, Sarah and Paulie. They have been married for over 23 years and started out their married life together outside Chicago, Illinois. She is a Christian, former homeschooling mom, who works from home. She has enjoyed over 14 years of homeschooling with all the ups and downs that go along with that journey. Both of her children have now graduated from homeschooling and have moved on to their respective jobs and lives. JoAnn enjoys many hobbies including crocheting, photography, cross-stitch, card making, website design and blogging, to name a few. She loves to write about her different journeys in life on her website Watered Garden Creations, She’s been working for TOS since February 2013, and though she’s only been here for a short period of time, she has enjoyed her work immensely and looks forward to many more years with the company.
Kristen Hamilton – Executive Manager, Customer Relations

Kristen Hamilton and her husband, Kevin, have been home-educating their five children since their eldest’s birth in 1998. An admitted curriculum junkie, Kristen blogs about her homeschool experiences at Sunrise to Sunset ( She also enjoys reading, crochet, and hiking with her family in her limited free time. Kristen loves to talk about homeschooling, and is thrilled to be working at, providing educational resources and support for homeschoolers everywhere.
Leah Walton – Assistant Manager, Customer Relations
Leah WaltonLeah is a homeschool graduate, second oldest of six children. She loved her homeschooling experience, and wants to help others on their homeschooling journey to make it as enjoyable as her own adventure. Leah lives with her parents and four younger siblings on forty acres of family land. She enjoys being outside with her horses, as well as reading, crocheting, baking, and doing anything with her family!
Brittany Montgomery – Customer Service Representative
BrittanyBrittany lives in Tennessee with her parents and 8 siblings. A homeschool graduate herself, Brittany strives to encourage others by helping them on their homeschooling journey. She has a passion for music, the deaf, serving the Lord, and all things “The Old Schoolhouse.”
Angie Beeson – Customer Service Representative, Editorial Assistant
AngieAngie is the fifth out of ten children. She is so grateful to her parents for choosing to homeschool her and her siblings, giving them a godly education and close-knit friendships with each other.
She keeps busy babysitting for several families, teaching art classes through her city’s rec center, and heading up her younger siblings’ education.
She has always been passionate about teaching and education, and is happy to be helping others have those same passions and educate their children in a God-glorifying way.
In her spare time she enjoys many things ranging from reading and cooking to sports and fitness. Her favorite moments are when she gets to spend time with friends and family.
Caitlyn Montgomery – Customer Service Representative
Caitlyn is the third oldest of nine children and a homeschool graduate. She enjoys teaching her little siblings as they go through their schooling years and is so thankful for her own homeschooling experience. She has a passion for music, so when she’s not helping around the house or on the farm she loves playing piano, flute and singing with her sisters. She also enjoys spending time with her family, sports, archery, reading, and many other activities.
Susan Kramer – Customer Service Manager
As the Advertising Production Manager for The Old Schoolhouse, Susan feels blessed to be able to use her organizational skills to help support the TOS Sales Team. She lives in North Carolina with her husband, Aaron, and their three children – Adam, Riah, and Mara. After spending 9 years in the public school system, they felt God telling them it was time to bring all three children home for their education and have been loving every moment.
