Mission Statement

Our mission at The Old Schoolhouse® is to produce a number of high-quality, Biblically based publications and other resources that are practical while introducing other products and services to the home educator that will strengthen, support, and challenge the family both spiritually and academically as they impact their world for Christ.

The Old Schoolhouse®, LLC is a business. We do not claim to be a ministry, but because our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ rules our lives, we seek to honor Him in all things, including the education of our children, our vocations, and our recreational activities. Therefore, we seek to honor Him through the inner and outer workings of our company.

Our purpose is to equip parents to take back their children spiritually and educationally by supporting, encouraging, informing, edifying, and inspiring them. It is also to exhort new parents to keep their children at home from the very beginning, commencing at the birth of their precious God-given gifts.

Our vision is to advance the cause of Christ by strengthening homeschool families spiritually and academically. Beyond that, our vision (and purpose and mission) is to see people come to know Christ as their personal Savior.

We Believe that:

  • Homeschooling is not just a choice; it is a conviction.
  • Public schools pursue a godless purpose and agenda. Christian parents need to be lovingly warned about the dangers of the public education system.
  • Homeschooling allows parents to exercise their God-given responsibility to educate their children spiritually and academically.
  • Homeschooling strengthens families, ultimately strengthening the body of Christ.
  • Homeschooling is a venue to impact the world for Christ.

Through the magazine and SchoolhouseTeachers.com, The Old Schoolhouse® as a company desires to help homeschool families gain the encouragement and inspiration, and supporting statistics & facts they need to educate their children at home with confidence.

"Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6).
