CAKE BATTER SHARK BAIT

This sweet and salty treat is something you’ll want to chow down on—a perfect snack while learning about sharks. SUPER QUICK and EASY to make. Ingredients:

  • 2 bags of popcorn (white. butter, or kettle corn)
  •  1 1/2 cups of cake mix
  •  1 1/2 cups of white chocolate chips
  •  1/4 cup of vegetable oil or shortening
  •  1/3 cup of shark or fish sprinkles
  •  gummy sharks

Instructions:

  1. Pop 2 bags of popcorn and pour into large bowl. Remove any un-popped kernels and allow to cool.
  2. In the microwave, melt white chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until creamy and melted.
  3. Add vegetable oil or shortening, continuing to stir until blended.
  4. Add in cake mix and stir until thickened. Also, add in your sprinkles.
  5. Pour mixture into the bowl of popcorn and carefully mix together until all pieces are coated evenly.
  6. Line a baking sheet with wax paper and spread the popcorn on the sheet.
  7. Allow to settle and harden in the refrigerator for 5-10 minutes.
  8. Once bait is put into a bowl, scatter gummy sharks within for a fun surprise.

SHARK FIN JELLO CUPS

Ingredients

  • Blue Jell-O (1 small pack makes 2 cups prepared)
  • Whipped topping

Materials

  • Small dessert cups
  • Clear plastic spoons (should stick out about 2 in. from dessert cup)
  • Gray foam sheets
  • White paper & pencil

Instructions

  1. Prepare gelatin according to package and pour into your cups. Then place in the fridge to firm.
  2. Make a “fin template” using the white paper and pencil.
  3. Cut out and trace fins onto the gray foam. Then cut them out and glue the shark fins to the tops of the spoon handles.
  4. Remove your Jell-O cups from the fridge and carefully insert a dried fin spoon into the center of each one.
  5. Spoon/Pipe whipped topping onto the top of each cup until you reach the start of your fin.

Ingredients

  • Blue drink of choice (Hawaiian punch, sports drink, or Kool-Aid works well)
  • Lemon-lime soda
  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Gummy fish and sharks

Materials

  • Clear cups
  • Colorful straws

Instructions

  1. Fill each cup about 2/3 full of blue drink.
  2. Finish filling with lemon-lime soda.
  3. Add 2 scoops of ice cream to each cup.
  4. Top with your gummy fish and sharks.
  5. Drop in a colorful straw and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • ½ tsp teal (or blue) food coloring
  • 2 sheets crumbled graham crackers
  • Shark gummy candies

Instructions

  1. Whip heavy cream, food coloring and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  2. Beat in condensed milk until color is uniform. Add additional food coloring if needed.
  3. Fold in crumbled graham crackers and transfer to loaf pan.
  4. Transfer loaf pan to freezer for at least 5 hours.
  5. To serve, scoop ice cream and add shark gummy candies.
