Treasure Hunters: The Legend of Sea Dog Simmons Review by Jenny Underwood

We received the adventure game called "Treasure Hunters:  The Legend of Sea Dog Simmons" from the Get Outside Club this winter.  Get Outside Club specifically designed this game to get your children outside and enjoying themselves without the aid of electronics!  This concept will probably resonate with most parents as more and more devices vie for our children's attention!

In this game, your children get to participate in a combination treasure scavenger hunt!  The game includes a wooden puzzle map, clues, treasure coins in a bag, and a code.  The parent gets to set up the game by hiding clues and pieces of the treasure map.  Will they find the treasure of Sea Dog Simmons?

This treasure hunt is a fantastic opportunity to get your children outdoors (or it could be played indoors in inclement weather), and it would make a great addition to a party or playday.  They will learn patience, perseverance, and critical thinking skills through this, plus have a lot of fun!

The pieces are of good quality and should hold up to many treasure hunts.  Treasure Hunters: The Legend of Sea Dog Simmons makes a wonderful gift for your children, family, and friends.  Just a note, but this is the first in a trilogy of treasure hunt series!

My children loved the wooden map and coins.  My son called them pieces of eight and thought the whole experience was great fun!  They also loved just putting the map together like a puzzle. I loved the fact that the purpose is to get children outdoors.  That is one thing that is super important to us as a family, so this is just one more imaginative way to integrate it into our lives!

The recommended ages to use this with are 8-14 and for two or more players. Generally, it takes about an hour to complete one full treasure hunt making it perfect for holding attention spans!  I am looking forward to exploring more products from this unique company!
