This Week at SchoolhouseTeachers ~ Art Techniques, Pre-K Activities: Read and Play, and Spanish

/ / Blog

Making art should always be an adventure.” That’s what Brenda Ellis, our Schoolhouse Art Techniques Teacher says. She makes art an adventure that kids of all ages and interests can enjoy. Even if your child has never felt inspired by the traditional artwork found in many museums, don’t give up! Brenda introduces art techniques and artistic mediums through the objects kids find in everyday life—a hot dog, a playground, a pet, and even a big blue pickup truck! Join her for this month’s unit on oil pastels and let your children be inspired by their favorite mode of transportation—whether it is a boat, a car, a truck, or a tractor!

Pre-K Activities: Read and Play has posted its final unit, a collection of fun activities all about the classic children’s story The Little Engine that Could. Come along as we make a fun train craft, enjoy a tasty train-theme snack, and learn about self-esteem.
