This book was written and illustrated by two brothers, Jonathan and Joshua Masterson. Inspired by the classics, Cedar Creek Critters: From A to Z is full of charming characters and whimsical, full-color illustrations that will take you back to your own childhood. This beautifully done, hardcover book covers all twenty-six letters of the alphabet in thirty-eight pages. In addition, each page has a short poem that introduces a new letter and a new critter character. My daughter and I have read it repeatedly and are typically able to get through the whole book in about five or ten minutes- depending on how long she wants to "ooh" and "ah" over the drawings! This book is sure to be a family favorite and is available for purchase on Amazon for $12.29. 

My four-year-old daughter and I have been working hard on letter recognition, so having a special alphabet book for our fun reading time further solidified our lessons. While reading Cedar Creek Critters: From A to Z, I pointed to each letter and asked her to tell me what letter it was, what sound it makes, and whether it was upper or lower case. She loved making story time more interactive, and I loved how much fun she was having while learning! 

Cedar Creek Critters: From A to Z was an instant hit. My daughter loved the adorable mice, squirrels, cats, and bunnies we got to meet along the way, and I loved the nostalgic feeling I got, turning each page and reminiscing about reading the classics with my mother. I would love to see prints of some of the illustrations made available. What beautiful artwork they would make for my children's walls!
