Childhood memories run strong when I pick up the Holly Hobbie Colorforms Retro Play Set. I had a set that was exactly like this one when I was a child. I played with it a lot and enjoyed it every time. My daughter has that same opportunity now that Kahootz Toys is manufacturing some of these retro toy sets.
We received the Holly Hobbie Colorforms set at the perfect time - my daughter had just gotten sick and felt lousy, unable to concentrate. However, she did not feel poorly enough to sleep all day. So, we pulled out these new toys and she had a blast. She played for a couple of hours with the creative options in this set.
The Holly Hobbie set comes in a box that is about the size of a piece of notebook paper. It is strong and sturdy. When you open it up, you have access to a sturdy doll made of cardboard with a stand, a high-quality paper doll. She is coated with plastic to help the clothing and accessories stay put using static cling. She has three assorted colors of dresses and shirts and accessories, with a fourth color of only accessories. The pieces include a bonnet, a Sunday hat, two skirts, three shirts, a jumper dress, and several bows, flowers, and more. With the yellow, red, white, and blue pieces, a whole host of combinations can be created to dress Holly Hobbie in.
My daughter has adored having this set to play with and her friends have found it quite fun, also. When she had to spend a day backstage for a dance performance, she packed this in her bag. She and her friends spent quite a bit of time dressing and redressing Holly Hobbie. During the days where she felt poorly, she would pull this play set out and enjoy creating new combinations. This precious Holly Hobbie Colorforms Retro Play Set is a definite hit and it will continue to get play for a long while.
Kahootz Toys has several different retro play sets available. With the quality of the product and the simplicity of the play, this is a toy that we are thrilled to have in our home.
