Baby Age + Moments Blocks Review by Lisa Tanner

The Original Toddler Cards
Milestone

I love finding great products to capture the fleeting memories of early childhood. The kids grow up so quickly, it is nice to be able to look back and remember the moments of baby and toddlerhood. The Baby Age + Moments Blocks and The Original Toddler Cards fit the bill for adorable memory creation.

The Baby Age + Moments Blocks sell for $28, and include four durable, printed blocks. The blocks are cube shaped. Two of the blocks feature numbers with fun designs, such as hearts, sailboats, stars, and clouds. One block features a D on one side, a W on one side, an M on one side, a Y on one side, and coordinating patterns on the remaining two sides.

You can use these three blocks as photo props to capture your child’s age. For instance, we used the two number blocks to depict 02 and the letter block to show M when my newborn son was two months old. They looked cute in the photo and will help us remember this stage when he is older.

The final block has six different events, one on each side. These events are:

  • Special outfit
  • Play time
  • Smile!
  • Nap time
  • Tummy time
  • On the move

You can use this block as an added photo prop to help you remember what was going on during your photo shoot. So, when my son starts crawling, we will display the “on the move” side of the block in a photo.

My older kids had a lot of fun playing with these blocks as well. One of my daughters loves taking pictures, and she enjoyed having new props to play with. My younger kids all wanted their pictures taken with the blocks too, so I am thankful that all the numbers were able to be made from them.

The Original Toddler Cards are another fun way to capture memories in photos. This $24 set includes 30 thick, colorful cards. Each has a picture or saying on the front, and a pattern on the back. There is a line on each to write the date.

These are designed to have your child hold the appropriate card as you snap a picture, documenting the skill or occasion. There is a fun variety of cards, including:

  • Each birthday 1-4
  • I can write my name.
  • I can sing a song.
  • I can get dressed by myself.
  • No more diapers!
  • I can count to 10.
  • I can ride my tricycle.

Each of the 30 cards has an event you may want to capture on camera. By writing the date on each, you can then keep these as a memory collection to look back on later in your child’s life. It is a fun way to keep track of major milestones, and some of the smaller ones you may forget about.

Again, my older children had a blast with these cards. They had fun reading through the set and raising their hands if they could do or had done what it said. Then they planned some photo shoots for the younger kids.

These cards also sparked some great family discussion, trying to remember when each of the other kids had done each thing.

If you have a new baby or a toddler in your family, these products from Milestone would make a fun addition to your homeschool. They would also make a great gift for a new mama, to help make capturing memories a little easier.
