TimeCube 5-15-30-60 Minute Preset Timer Review by Renee KnoblauchTimeCube 1-5-10-15 Minute Preset Timer
1 Atlas Street
Kenilworth, NJ 07033
There are a lot of different timers out on the market and I have to admit that I have tried more than I care to admit. The TimeCube® intrigued me with the simplicity of function and looks. It looked like it would be a great timer to use with my Autistic teenager daughter. No ticking noise, or extremely bright lights or functions that would take away her attention from her task.
The TimeCube 5-15-30-60 Minute Preset Timer – White, and the TimeCube 1-5-10-15 Minute Preset Timer – Green, are square shaped timers that are approximately 2 ¼” x 2 ¼” in dimension. The timer shows a preset time on four sides of the cube—hence the numbers found in the TimeCube name. The top of the cube is blank, and the bottom part of the cube is where the on/off functions are located. There are two sound settings; high and low. It also has a digital display window to check your elapsed time which shows minutes and seconds. The bottom of the cube is also where your batteries are housed. You will need two AAA batteries for the timer.
The timer is extremely easy to operate. This is a huge blessing for my daughter who has a hard time turning or operating many things. You simply slide the switch on the bottom of the cube to either high or low and then flip the cube to the time you need. The number facing up is the amount of time set. Another innovative feature that I love is it is easy to change time or add more time by just picking up the timer and flipping it over to another time and it pre-sets itself to that time immediately. To turn off the timer you pick it up and place the blank side facing up to stop the timer.
There is a slight blinking red light when the time is elapsing. When it gets closer to the set time it flashes quicker. The beep sound isn’t loud but, sufficient to hear it.
When we first opened up the timers we thought they were damaged as you hear a slight rattling sound. My son thinks it has something to do with the way it works internally. My engineer-electronic minded son even checked the accuracy on the timer on several settings and it’s right on with the times.
The TimeCube® has been a huge hit in my house. I never imagined my whole family would be using these timers. The only complaint I have about these is trying to find them in my house. I think I need one in every room.
My Autistic daughter uses it when getting ready in the morning and as a reminder to stay focused when getting ready for bed. We use the timer with her reading, writing, break time, tablet time, as a reminder when cooking something, and many other functions. The best part is all I have to do is set the timer for a certain amount of time, or she can set it by herself. The noise or light on it doesn’t distract or overwhelm her. Of all the situations where we have used timers in the past, the TimeCube has been the only one that has allowed her to be self-sufficient.
My son uses it for his guitar practice and other activities. I love using it for cooking, exercising, and keeping myself on track with a task. We all use it daily. Datexx has a nice selection of preset timers to fit your need or style. The TheTimeCube® has a very modern look to it.
I absolutely love my The TimeCube 5-15-30-60 Minute Preset Timer – White and the TimeCube 1-5-10-15 Minute Preset Timer – Green. The concept is simple and very effective!
