We love to listen to music in our house. The kids all have CD players in their rooms, and there are many times we have to make everyone turn the music down. There are so many new styles of music available for the kids, but sometimes we just want to hear music from the “Good Old Days”. Daria Music brings that to our house with Grandchildren’s Delight.

There are 15 songs on this CD that both mom and dad remember from when we were little. Some of the songs we had forgotten about, but could sing along with as soon as they started. There are a variety of songs from This Little Light of Mine, Do Your Ears Hang Low…?, This Land is Your Land to La Cucaracha. This variety, allows the little ears in the house to develop a love for all kinds of music.

Each one of these songs is so full of excitement and fun. They draw the kids in and they don’t seem to get bored listening to them. This was fun for me to see, the kids enjoying the same songs that I had as I grew up. Only Daria takes it further for us! She has a website full of resources for homeschoolers! We were able to take a journey with each song we listened to!

On the website, we were able to find all the lyrics to all the songs on this CD. Some of them would give us a little information about the songs, allowing us to research them a little more. But not only that, we were able find new instruments to make to make our own music with the songs. There are step by step instructions on how to make things like a didgeridoo, guiro or shekere. Yes, funny names, but they sure are fun to play with!

Introducing my children to new music of different styles is one of my goals. But I want them to want to steal that music from me because they have fun with it. Grandchildren’s Delight is just that kind of music. In fact, I had to search bedrooms to get my hands on the CD in order to write my review. All of my kids, from 17 down to two fell in love with the songs. These truly are some of the best songs from the good old days and I am glad that my kids have fallen in love with them as I did!
