Her name is "Twiggy" and she has been an invaluable tool for our oldest son in his college courses. Her case is bright neon green - his favorite color. You see, Twiggy is a netbook with some personality. Twiggy also has to put up with the occasionally curious fingers of Josiah's younger brothers and sister. There have been no serious mishaps, yet, but it's just a matter of time! Fortunately, Pelican has made a tough-as-nails case for netbooks that will keep Twiggy safe and snug - even from little brothers! The Pelican 1075 HardBack(TM) Case is designed to protect netbooks, hard drives or tablets up to 11.3" x 8.1" x 1.6". According to the Pelican website, the 1075 is "constructed of high strength ABS . . . [and] is dustproof, watertight, and crushproof. The easy open latch remains shut under pressure or after impact. A built-in automatic purge valve keeps water and dust out while balancing air pressure." The molded shock absorbing liner protects the netbook from impact, but is gentle enough not to leave scratches. There is a removable shoulder strap included to make transportation easy. Pelican also makes the i1075 model for iPads (of both generations). Electronics have grown increasingly small, even as they have become increasingly complex and sophisticated. If you have a netbook or tablet that needs a bit of protecting, the Pelican 1075 HardBack(TM) Case could be just the ticket. We were impressed that the case is very light, but still extremely tough and durable. It could take a good amount of abuse without harming the precious electronics inside. My son's netbook fits perfectly in the case, nestled away safely until he is ready to use it. It should be safe from falls, spills, and even small, and sometimes sticky, fingers!
