Man, oh, Man! You want to get kids interested In Bible stories? This is a good way! The Bible In Living Sound is a wonderful company that has put together an astronomical number of CDs with Bible stories. Moreover, they're interesting because the stories are brought to life with actors! You'll find yourself on the edge of your chair as you listen to the Prodigal Son, The Good Samaritan, David and Goliath, David and Jonathan, Zacchaeus, Queen Esther, Haman and Mordecai, Noah's Ark and so on. You'll feel like you're right there, in the midst of things happening, because a group of audio actors is performing the stories, on front and center stage, in your living room, car or wherever you decide to pop in a BLS CD.

They are GOOD. The sound quality is right on and the stories are riveting. You get a sense of adventure just learning and listening to what saints before us went through.

Are these stories boring? NO! Your children will be excited right along with you! From the small sampling we heard, we knew we wanted to own the whole set.

Here are the categories BLS offers, and in each category you can choose a whole plethora of stories on CD: Old Testament: Freed!, Challenged!, Tested!, Rescued!; Life and Times of Jesus: Saved!, Reclaimed!; Life and Times of Paul: Delivered!, Victorious! Plus, they offer activity workbooks. Talk about superb Bible enrichment courses for homeschoolers!

Is this a substitute for reading and meditating on the Word of God? Of course not. And Bible In Living Sound is not suggesting that. Daily Scripture lessons and prayer should be a part of every Christian homeschool. However, what a supplement! I prefer Bible In Living Sound CDs to any other pleasure listening audio re-enactments! Does your husband carpool? They are wonderful to listen to on the way to work with an unsaved friend in the car, too (They won't be bored!). E-mail BLS at for a brochure because you'll find a treasure here. Or give them a quick call at 1-800-634-0234. They're a super, friendly company! Go get the CDs!

Here is a review on The Bible in Living Sound RECLAIMED! (Vol. 6, 10 CDs)!

It's true: some tools we get for our kids just because they're so GOOD, no matter how the children assimilate learning, primarily 'audible' or not! We listened, enrapt, to tales of the latter portion of Jesus' ministry, His betrayal, His heart-wrenching gift, and His glorious ascension. These CDs are enticing, true to the Word, and nondenominational. The voice actors are thoughtfully chosen. Our teen found them uplifting, while the smaller one got plain excited (Honestly, does this beat that wanna rap CD you-know-who asked for?).

Can you think of a better way to fill your child's heart with God while you are on the way to practice, getting a bite before the game, or stuck in traffic?

In the hectic busyness of our lives, what a way to... umm, no pun intended - RECLAIM that time for the Lord! And isn't that what their education is all about (Beats that stodgy Dow report too)?!

These CDs come in different sized collections. You can get one single CD/tape appropriate for a toddler's birthday gift or an entire collection of Bible curriculum for the YEAR, with activity workbooks included (OK, this may sound awfully petty, but I really do appreciate it when CDs come with a good case that is easy to access over and over, not cracking sharply each time the kids try to open it up. Much easier on little kids' hands and feet, easier on big kids' nerves).

The Bible In Living Sound is located in Nordland, WA. They have been producing Bible reenactment recordings since 1963. The Bible In Living Sound is available in Japanese, Thai, and Chinese.
