Two Minute Teacher: Pre-Algebra brings a private tutor into your own home on DVD. Need to review a few concepts before testing? Struggling to grasp something new? Want to keep fresh over the summer? This product is for you. One DVD provides over 100 two-minute lessons, 26 flash cards, 6 "stumpers," and fun problems and bloopers to wrap it all up.

While not specifically designed for homeschool use, Two Minute Teacher fits in perfectly with any homeschool classroom. If your student is having trouble grasping a new concept, use Two Minute Teacher to offer another explanation. The lessons are literally a quick two minutes, presented as though the student were watching a lesson being done on a white board in a classroom. Explanations are concise and to the point. They can be used whenever your student needs an alternate explanation or just needs to review a concept.

So, what does this fabulous DVD cover? I suppose if I said "EVERYTHING!" I would be exaggerating. But it really is hard to find something that is missing. The directory inside the cover lists lesson tracks alphabetically so that you can find just what you are looking for with ease. The list begins with algebraic expressions, angles, and area and goes all the way to triangles, volume, and x and y intercepts. Flashcards give quick practice for brushing up on facts. Stumpers challenge the math lover, and the Fun Clips and Bloopers are just that--fun! All in all, this is big bang for your buck ($14.99), and you'll be glad you have this before frustration sets in--for both parent and student.

It's hard to say what could be improved here. Perhaps the lessons could go deeper or give more examples. But they are meant to be quick and cover something taught elsewhere, not a complete curriculum to stand alone.

This really is a fabulous little resource to tuck away for just the right time. When you've already read the lesson in the book, explained it, and done some practice work and yet you still hear "But I don't get it," let the Two Minute Teacher give it a try.
