Millionaire Babies or Bankrupt Brats is a book written to encourage parents of very young children to young adults in the area of finances. From the company that has produced the Love and Logic parenting resources, this book highlights the need to teach our children in this important area. This resource covers personal responsibility: making money matter, application, allowance, tools used in the exchange of money, contributions, and financial time-outs. It also highlights financial responsibility: spending, saving, borrowing, earning, investing, and sharing. Included in this book is an epilogue with exercises and charts for the reader's use. The book is intended to be used by anyone with children in their care. It seems to be a good resource for teaching any age the concept of financial responsibility.

There are several ways to use this book. You can do an in-depth reading. Or you can use it as a quick reference by scanning the table of contents and choosing a topic that interests you. The icons used throughout the book enable the reader to see at a glance what is included on particular pages. There are icons for cross reference, exercise, note, bottom line, and more.

I enjoyed this book very much, and it was very applicable for our family. It especially helped our teenager, who is wanting to be more responsible for his own personal finances. For our toddler, the book was an encouragement to build those positive habits early. It also helped us, as adults, to see areas in our own finances that could be changed for the better.

In this time of economic uncertainty, this is a very timely resource. The encouragement to look at personal and financial responsibilities is very much needed. Millionaire Babies or Bankrupt Brats is, in my opinion, an invaluable resource. I highly recommend adding it to your home library.
