Arizona Makes History with School Choice for Homeschoolers

SchoolhouseTeachers.com welcomes new families from The Grand Canyon State and beyond

GRAY, Tenn. – August 16, 2022 -- PRLog – Arizona, already famous for the Grand Canyon, just landed another enormous accolade, this time in the realm of education. Arizona now leads the nation in groundbreaking school choice with the recent signing of H.B. 2853, which, as reported by the Office of the Arizona Governor, “ensures all Arizona K–12 students will now be eligible for scholarship funds to access the education that best fits their unique needs.” Arizona has expanded its Empowerment Scholarship Accounts, allowing participating Arizona families—including homeschoolers—to receive more than $6,500 per year per child to help “meet the needs of their students outside the traditional public school system” (https://azgovernor.gov/newsroom).

One homeschool curriculum option already approved by the state of Arizona according to https://www.azed.gov/schoolhouseteacherscom is SchoolhouseTeachers.com. This online educational platform has been serving homeschool families for over a decade and offers a full homeschool curriculum option for preschool through high school. “SchoolhouseTeachers.com has something for everyone in the family with over 400 course options, plus hundreds of additional resources,” said Gena Suarez, a leader in the homeschooling world. Suarez, herself a homeschooling parent, founded The Old Schoolhouse®, which supports homeschoolers through both the SchoolhouseTeachers.com curriculum division and The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine, in print for over twenty years.

Suarez shared guidance for anyone opting to homeschool this fall. “You’ll join an enthusiastic group of families ready to connect and help you along in your homeschool journey when you start your SchoolhouseTeachers.com membership. Get the kids involved in the planning process as you prepare for your best school year yet. Core subjects and electives are available at their fingertips.” Parents may choose from high-quality enrichment courses or remedial courses for the struggling learner written by professionals in their fields. Members are not locked into specific courses or grades but gain complete access to every course from day one.

“Whether you’re homeschooling in Arizona or anywhere across the country or even around the world,” said Suarez, “SchoolhouseTeachers.com will help you homeschool with confidence for every grade, every subject, and every student.”
