blog desk isnt necessary

Sometimes when we homeschool, the desk simply isn’t necessary. Ditch the Desk with Jennifer Holden contains weekly and monthly unit studies that examine topics such as being an author or illustrator, baking with math, cold and insulation, the life of frontier photographer Evelyn Cameron, the journey from ranch to burger, the ocean, and even candy canes! You can learn about everything from spring to the Renaissance. There are 24 weekly or monthly unit studies designed for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Everyday Explorers – Australia and New Zealand is an elective course for all students that allows them to study interesting facts about Australia and New Zealand and the history of these nations. A different state or territory of Australia is visited each month, with detours to explore New Zealand, the Cook Islands, and Niue. There are activities, interesting facts, and links that will help the student virtually explore the areas being discussed in the day’s lesson. Seven months of units are available.
