Though we might sometimes wish to throw out the box and homeschool entirely by life learning, we can’t get away from books. And that’s a good thing. So many exciting and wonderful things can be discovered through books. Michelle Miller puts together a Monthly Reading List each month to help you find interesting books about a specific topic. Her last unit was all about Africa, and there are two dozen more reading lists available to you. Each list focuses on one topic and is broken down by genre, including fiction, nonfiction, picture books, and subject categories. Age ranges are also provided. Literature with Adam Andrews is a course for students in upper elementary through high school that assists the parent in teaching on a particular book. Socratic discussion questions, along with answers, are provided, as well as note pages and a story chart on literary elements. Students will explore the idea of conflicts within a story, themes, settings, characters, motifs, and more.
