I’d Rather Be Your Mommy from Home School Adventure Co. is a beautiful picture book for moms to share with their babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. Full of lovely images and a short narration that includes both the challenges and blessing of motherhood it gives moms a wonderful way to express what is in all of our hearts - that the thing we love most is being our children’s mommy! It is available in both digital and hardback formats and there is also a companion coloring book available. The hardback version is $16.95 ($8.95 for the digital version).

When I was first asked to review this book, I thought it sounded like a book specifically for stay-at-home moms. That didn’t necessarily bother me as I do fit that description, but this is definitely not the case! After reading it, I quickly realized this book describes all moms, it doesn’t imply that your only role is “mommy,” just that it is a top priority which nothing could replace.

My one and three-year-olds absolutely loved this book. They were both enamored with the illustrations and story. I lost track of the book for a while and finally found it in my three-year-old’s bed where he had been hiding it for himself! My only complaint about this book is that it was hard to get through a reading without tearing up.

This is a great addition to any home with infants through preschoolers. It would also make a lovely baby gift.
