My girls love to read and write but when it comes to Grammar I have one kid that would rather do anything else but talk about parts of speech, phrases, and punctuation. For her, this is just pure drudgery and she procrastinates and takes forever to finish her work until she started the Easy Grammar Ultimate Series. The Easy Grammar Ultimate Series: 180 Daily Teaching Lessons Grade 8 Teachers Edition helps students beyond sixth-grade gain a basic understanding of grammar.

The Teacher Edition contains all the student worksheets, important information about using the text, the scope & sequence, and an answer key.  The worksheets are reproducible for use with multiple children and is available for $29.95. If you have one child, they can work directly in the workbook since the answers are in the back of the book. If making copies is not your thing additional Student Workbooks without the teacher notes and answers can be purchased for $13.95. Easy Grammar Ultimate Series: Grade 8 Tests is available for $7.95 and may also be reproduced for multiple students. One assessment should be given after completing ten daily lessons. This series may also be purchased as a download.

These 180 ten-minute lessons are all one page long and should be taught in order. The book has been designed to teach, reintroduce, review, and apply concepts. Approximately ten minutes should be enough time for the student to complete the lesson and to discuss the answers together. Each lesson is set up exactly the same way and always starts with capitalization, then punctuation, grammar and other concepts, and always ending with sentence combining. It is recommended that you read and discuss the rules for each section before the student completes the work. Then the answers should be discussed immediately after each section is completed and before moving on to the next section. If your student is grasping the material easily you could discuss the entire day’s work at the same time and grade the sheet all at once.

The initial thing that really intrigued my daughter was the ten-minute lessons note on the front of the book. She was all for using this grammar curriculum if she only had to spend ten minutes a day on it. It did start out pretty easy for her which helped her understand exactly how this book would work. She likes that each day's lessons are set up exactly the same way which also helps keep the lesson short. After a couple of weeks into the book some of the days we actually spent more than ten minutes, but she didn't even realize or complain that those took longer. We really like this series. The explanations and directions get right to the point and make the concepts very easy to understand.
