Chemistry: Investigate the Matter that Makes Up Your World is available as a full color eBook, softcover or hardcover book. Cost is $12.95, $17.95, or $22.95 respectively. It is recommended for ages 12-15 or students in 7th-9th grades. Hands-on projects engage students in chemistry, biochemistry, physics, engineering, technology, STEM-STEAM, and more. The history of science is also addressed. The words found in the glossary are integrated in the lessons with VOCAB LAB activities. The lessons are covered in eight chapters which can each be completed over several hours in one day or stretched over a longer time.

Easy to understand text explains each new fact about atoms, matter, solutions, and much more. Depending on their level of independence, students can use this book on their own or with a parent's guidance. The experiments further enhance learning, and most supplies required are things easily found at home. Students are guided through the scientific method as they complete the experiments. Illustrations (by Samuel Carbough) are included in cartoon format and drawings depicting the lessons.

I recommend this if your child wants to understand the usefulness of metric conversions. Significance is placed on understanding the metric number system including how to convert numbers for the purpose of solving the chemistry equations. After the clear explanations, relevant equations are used throughout the book. My son's concise review: "cool!"
