Many children have trouble learning through the traditional method of books. It just isn’t for them. They learn better using hands-on approach, by living in the real world. If you have children like this, then Farmschooling: Living Math and Lessons for Real-World Learning (Book 1), may just be the option you are looking for.

This 21-page eBook will gently guide you in ways to encourage your children to learn while completing every day, hands-on activities around your farm or house. While this book is about different ways to learn around a farm, it is flexible in that you can adapt the activities to suit your family and your current lifestyle.

At the start of the book there are some great suggestions that will help you get started on your ‘real-life homeschooling’ journey. With only a few basic items such as access to the internet or library for research and writing materials - a notebook and pencils, crayons or pens, you can begin your journey quickly and easily.

This is followed by some easy, fun and tried suggestions on how to make this all work. The first subject that is talked about is Math. There are not only suggestions on traditional math problems like add and subtract, but ways to incorporate geometry and algebra. By having your child design housing and fencing for animals or ordering food for them, not only are they gaining real-life knowledge and experience but they are also learning to love and protect the animals in their care.

The next subject tackled is language arts. These pages contain some very enjoyable while educational, learning activities. After this is a Book and Poetry list that contains some great non-fiction and fiction books that children will love to read and use for copywork. There is also a page of quotes that can be used copywork as well.

Science is the final subject. In these couple of pages you will find many exciting activities to learn and research, such as how animals eat, how wool is used, how to milk animals and how to set up solar energy at your place.

Even if you don’t live on a property (like us) you will definitely still be able to use this resource to make learning fun in your homeschool. We have enjoyed designing our own farm, discussing what animals we would like to own and how we would go with housing them and raising them.

Overall, this is an amazing resource for homeschooling families with lots of ‘out-of-the-box’ suggestions on how to easily incorporate learning into your daily life and provide your children with a firm foundation.

The true beauty of homeschooling is making it work for your family and this resource may be just what you need to make that happen.
