Super Science Investigations: Part B, The Physical World, is a paperback book that contains fifty science activities. It is part of the four book Super Science Investigations series. The book is broken down into five different sections: Electricity, Magnets, Force, Light, and Sound. In order to complete these activities, some basic science type materials are necessary. It is designed to be used with students in grades 5-9. The book sells for $11.95 on the Educational Impressions, Inc website.

At the top of each page, is the title of the activity and a brief introduction. A list of equipment and materials required to complete the activity is in the left-hand column. The easy to follow step-by-step instructions are in the center of the page. Illustrations which help to make the instructions easier to understand are also in this section. Below the instructions, there are questions for the student(s) to answer. These questions help the student(s) to really understand the lessons from the activity. At the bottom of the page, are any extension activities that could encourage the student(s) to continue learning about that particular subject.

Super Science Investigations: Part B, The Physical World could easily be used in both a public/private school setting as well as in a homeschool. The lessons are easy to follow, and complete. My kids enjoyed the hands-on activities. The one thing that I wish I would have had available would have been a kit with the necessary supplies to complete all of the activities. That would have reduced the amount of time I spent tracking down supplies.

Most of the activities in Super Science Investigations: Part B, The Physical World, are designed to take less than 30 minutes. The activities are easily completed either by an individual or as a group. If the book is to be used in a classroom setting, the teacher is entitled to reproduce copies for use in his or her classroom.

I would recommend Super Science Investigations: Part B, The Physical World, to be used as a compliment to your physical science curriculum. The lessons are interesting and engaging, and the hands-on activities are helpful for students to get a better grasp on the concepts being taught.
