Christmas Is About Jesus is a 24-day advent devotional by author and mother Mukkove Johnson. Beginning December 1st and ending December 24th, each day features a devotional focusing on one Christmas symbol. Using snowflakes, doves, bells, shepherds, and more, Johnson shows how each symbol points us to Jesus. Each short lesson includes a related Bible verse. Most of the lessons are half a page or less, making them the perfect length for young children. There are colorful illustrations on each page.

Like many Christian mothers, I am always looking for ways to help my children remember the true meaning of Christmas in the midst of the seasonal busyness that can distract us.  Christmas Is About Jesus helped me do just that. My children enjoyed the lessons and looked forward to reading the next one each night. The short length was perfect for holding their attention. Also, because the lessons are short, if we did miss a night (which always seems to happen during advent season) it was easy to make up the lesson another night. In the past I have gotten overwhelmed with complicated advent devotionals.  Christmas Is About Jesus was sweet, refreshing, and manageable. Our family will use it again and again as long as we have young children.
