Dreambox is an online math program designed for grades K-3. It uses games to make the lessons fun and interactive. You can rest assured, however, that your child will be doing so much more than just having fun. He or she will be learning!

Dreambox is a very well done math curriculum, with over 500 math lessons that are built on the math learning Focal Points from the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. While playing games, your child will build understanding and confidence in the same math fundamentals that are being taught in classrooms. Children will develop a better understanding of what they are learning because they use virtual manipulatives to show their work rather than simply clicking on an answer. They learn number sense, computation, and even beginning algebra. Dreambox is an online program, which means nothing is downloaded to your computer. This also means that your child does not need to be using the same computer each time, which allows for more flexibility.

Dreambox has dashboards for parents to check their child's progress. You can see what he is working on, how he is doing with it, and even get fun tips for incorporating math into everyday life. Dreambox sends out regular email updates so that you know exactly what your child has been doing, and it creates special Certificates of Achievement that you can print out and give to your child when an adventure story is completed.

When your child signs on for the first time, he or she will design a character and choose a picture password. The very first game is actually a hidden placement test that is used to determine what level your child is at, and as he continues to play, Dreambox will automatically adjust the lessons, games, and hints to your child's needs and level of learning. We found it to be a very fun way to learn math, and even some of the older children enjoyed watching the younger ones play.

I believe the Dreambox program is very well done. I would definitely consider buying a membership to it again.
