Good Night, Little Sea Otter is a paperback of approximately 21 pages. It would make a great bedtime storybook for a toddler. The little sea otter in the story reminded me of my granddaughter. It is very important to her to make the rounds and say goodnight to everyone in the house before she hops in bed. The little sea otter knew it was time to sleep, so he set out to say goodnight to everyone he could think of: the harbor seals, the sea lions, the seagull, the fish, and all the other sea creatures. Finally, he runs out of prospects, and his mama reminds him that he has not yet said goodnight to her. So he tells her goodnight and also says goodnight to the stars and the moon before he finally drifts off to sleep.

The illustrations in this book are wonderful! The little sea otter is so cute I wanted to pluck him off the page and cuddle with him. It is such a sweet story! I think it would be a great gift for grandmas to give their young grandchildren and even the new babies in the family. This will be a favorite on our bookshelf for many years to come.
