Bible study is of utmost importance in our home. In Deuteronomy 6, we are told to make God's Word part of our daily life--formally teaching the Bible and informally discussing it. Adding this set of CDs to the listening stash we keep in our van has been a huge blessing for both formal teaching and informal discussion!

Fifteen CDs are packaged in a sturdy, compact, hard case and take your children all the way through the entire New Testament. The Bible is read word for word from the Contemporary English Version, yet there's a flair of drama as different voices speak the parts of different people. Sound effects have been added at appropriate times as well, which adds to the professional quality of the CDs.

I had never read from the Contemporary English Version of the Bible before and have to admit that I was a bit skeptical about straying from the two versions I typically use. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how clear and accurate this translation is. It's very child-friendly but doesn't gloss over anything either. Each chapter of the Bible marks a new track, making it easy to find where you leave off. As a bonus, embedded within the Bible chapters are 100 fun children's songs that I like to describe as Sunday school songs. They're nice to break up the drama a bit.

At less than $40.00 for the set, these CDs are well worth the money! Just knowing that your children can listen to the Word of God over and over again is priceless. I highly recommend this product
