The Sing the Word® Scripture Memory CD Set includes six audio CDs: All Nations Shall Worship (ages 10+), The Heavens Declare (ages 9+), Great in Counsel and Mighty in Deed (ages 8+), God Our Provider (ages 7+), A New Commandment (ages 6+), and Sing the Word from A to Z (birth to age 5). The CDs include a variety of praise and worship songs intended to help make Scripture memorization meaningful and fun. Steve Harrow, the creator of Sing the Word, is a worship leader and a composer with a Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music. His wife and four children also take part in the music and vocals on the CDs, making Sing the Word a true family business. Each CD comes in a plastic jewel case and includes an insert with the titles and lyrics for the songs. The titles are marked with the corresponding Scripture reference and a designation of the Scripture version used for the particular song. Versions include King James, New American Standard Bible, Revised Standard Version, New King James Version, New International Version, and the Amplified Bible. The CDs also include the instrumental background track for each song. The vocals are professional, with clear recording and excellent sound quality. Lyrics, lead sheets, piano scores, and more are available for purchase as downloads on the company website, and lyrics are available to view prior to purchase.

All Nations Shall Worship has 11 Scripture memory songs and is recommended for ages 10 and up because of the long Scripture length, but the songs will be enjoyed by the whole family. Sounds from all over the world are used on this CD, from Irish Celtic pipes to African drums, Latin American percussion to Indian sitars, along with musical styles from the Middle East, China, Java, America, India, and Africa. The Bible versions used are New American Standard, King James, and New King James.

The Heavens Declare includes 12 songs and is appropriate for ages 9 and up. Considered the most "upbeat" collection, it includes Spanish Flamenco guitar rhythms, a French horn choir, and even tom-toms and brass. The song "Bring The Tithe" boasts a guest baritone, Derrick Smith. Scripture versions used on this CD include New American Standard, King James Version, and New International Version.

Great in Counsel and Mighty in Deed has 15 songs including Psalm 8, Psalm 42, and John 1:1-4, "In The Beginning Was the Word." Recommended for ages 8 and older this CD includes songs representing Joseph's message to his brothers who sold him into slavery, as well as David and Goliath, making it an excellent choice for families with a desire to increase recall of Bible history. The King James Version, Revised Standard Version, and New American Standard version of the Bible are used on this CD.

God Our Provider, with 16 songs, is our choice for work with Awana assignments as it includes the song "Books of the Old Testament," which is helping our children learn their books of the Bible. Recommended for ages 7 and up, this one is packed with great finds for children. "Our Father" quickly became a favorite for our 4-year-old! Bible versions include King James Version, Revised Standard Version, and New American Standard.

A New Commandment is the other CD we have been using significantly for Awana Scripture memory. Its 19 scripture songs include "Books of the New Testament," "For God So Loved the World," "Thy Word Is a Lamp," and "I Am The Way." This CD is recommended for those over age 6. It includes the use of the New King James Version and the King James Version of the Bible.

Sing the Word from A to Z includes 26 songs, each one beginning with a different letter of the alphabet. This title was the first recording for the Harrow family, all of the Harrow family, including their youngest at the time--he was only a month old. You hear a bit of his crying in the song "Wait for the Lord," a fitting title. What is more fantastic is hearing his 6-year-old sister calming him--what a blessing! This CD is recommended for the youngest ages, newborn to age five. It includes references from the New International Version, Amplified Bible, King James Version, and the New King James Version.

Our family continues to enjoy the songs in the Sing the Word® Scripture Memory CD Set, and we plan to enjoy them for many years to come! You can purchase the CDs separately or all together as a set. Individual songs are even available as downloads on the website. I searched for a downside to this product and simply could not find one. I suppose if you had an absolute preference for a specific version of the Bible, you might see that as a negative. Some of the songs include spoken Scripture before the song begins, setting the tone and preparing the hearts of the listeners. The Harrow family should be commended. What a blessing for homeschool families to have these CDs available to help us instill Scripture into the hearts of our children!
