What could be more fun than a lapbook AND the American Girls? This Project Pack from In the Hands of a Child is all about Samantha, Rebecca, Kit, Mollie and Julie and their "life and times." This study is recommended for Grades K-4. There are so many different ways you can use this study and adapt it to your own needs! The possibilities are endless.

The spiral-bound Teacher's Manual has 106 pages and includes 20 activities for the lapbook. These activities include vocabulary, history, and fun crafts/projects, and they provide many insights into the times and places these characters represent. One of the suggested activities was making a "situpon" like Molly did at camp! What a memory that was for me! We made those in Girl Scouts when I was a child.

This manual gives step-by-step instructions and colored illustrations for creating your lapbook. All you need is file folders, colored paper, scissors, glue, markers, tape, and a stapler. In addition to all the wonderful information contained in the book, the authors give you a list of additional resources you can use in the study: websites with more information and books that you can look for in your local library.

We have many of the American Girl books on our shelf already, and this study will be a wonderful way of visiting them all again. I highly recommend this study to all the homeschoolers that have enjoyed these wonderful books or would like to learn more about them.
