The Marinis are a family of music lovers. They have incorporated this love into their home studies and built a successful home business in the process. Be Thou My Vision and There is a Fountain are two of the eight musical CDs released by Marini Made Harps. Dena and Joanna Marini share their harp skills and vocal talents in these soothing collections of Christian hymns.

There is a Fountain, created in 1999, contains 16 songs that were played on a 36-string lever harp and a Limerick Lap Harp. Dena and Joanna were 15 and 13 years old when they created this CD, and they do a remarkable job conveying the beauty and soothing power of their instruments. Their arrangements are graceful and elegant.

Be Thou My Vision was created in 2003. This CD includes harp as well as other instruments blended beautifully with Dena and Joanna's angelic voices. It contains 14 hymns that evoke the peaceful calm of Christianity. The harp playing in this CD shows the girls' improvement and demonstrates a stronger, more elegant sound to the harp.

I really enjoyed listening to these CDs. There is a Fountain is great to play in the evening when you need to wind down. My son listened to it in bed a few times and was lulled right to sleep. This is also a good CD to play during prayer or while entertaining company. Purely instrumental, this CD is not a distracting background sound. You could play it throughout the day for a calm ambience.

Be Thou My Vision was my personal favorite of the two CDs. The girls' voices are positively amazing. I think the use of voice and other instruments brought this CD to a whole new level of talent. The CDs are priced at $15 apiece. I would recommend both of them, but if I had to choose one, Be Thou My Vision is the one I would choose. I think it would make a wonderful all-occasion gift for Christians.
