Worship Africa has approximately 50 minutes of beautiful cinematography accompanied by worship music. There are African landscapes, animals, sea life, flowers, birds, and insects. Lots of cute shots of animal babies are included. Only one short scene showed people, a silhouette of fishermen in a boat. Some of the big landscape shots are a little fuzzy, but the up-close shots are amazingly clear.

The worship songs are: "Hungry for You," "Agnus Dei," "Days of Elijah," "Jabulani," "I Believe in Jesus," "What a Faithful God Have I," "Let Your Glory Fall," "I Love You, Lord," "Eagle's Wings," "Amazing Love," and "Above All." One of the songs includes what sounds like an African children's chorus, and another has an African-sounding rhythm. Efforts have been made to coordinate some of the lyrics with the pictures. A music CD of all the songs is included.

Although plenty of the creatures were identifiable by my children and me (elephants, zebras, giraffes), I found myself wondering what some of the other animals and birds were. Subtitles would be nice, especially to designate the subjects and locations. This would definitely add to the educational element.

How would one use Worship Africa? It could be a component of a unit study on Africa. Churches might find it useful, especially since there is a menu option of full-lyric subtitles. Another option available to the viewer is instrumental only.

Our family found this DVD relaxing and inspiring. My 13-year-old son took the words right out of my mouth when he said, "It would be cool to visit Africa."
