The Gimme Ten Workout program is a Christian alternative to yoga. This awesome workout DVD contains six 10-minute workouts thus it establishes a routine while hindering boredom. Each workout contains:

  •   1 minute low-impact aerobics
  •   8 minutes with light weights
  •   1 minute of gentle stretching

Moreover, the six-workouts focus on differing parts of the body.

  •   Monday, Wednesday, Friday- Upper body
  •   Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday- Lower body
  •   Sunday- Sabbath

During each segment you are also focusing on God's word!

This is the first of Laurette's DVD's that I tried. She suggests this one for people just starting out or those returning to working out. I wanted to try it because I thought, "even I can do 10 min." Later, this program can be used as a good start-up to a more intense workout.

Laurette stresses movements to a count with attention to breathing. Her knowledge of the muscle groups is shared so you know what part of the muscle is being stretched or strengthened. Movement form is constantly monitored while Bible verses are quoted, then verses are repeated in other translations.

The strength of this program is the multidimensional focus. Exercises are executed in harmony with the scriptural affirmations. The goal is that our thoughts will get in line with God's thoughts and our body, mind, spirit, and soul will reap returns on our investments.
