So many devotionals out there--how do you pick? Are you looking for a deep theological work? If so, Real Life Moments would not fit the bill. However, if you want a highly personal and down-to-earth motivational resource, you have just hit the jackpot.
Author and pastor J. Mark Fox shares personal vignettes from his own life, each with a remarkably profound spiritual truth or challenge for dads in particular. As a wife and mother, I am always challenged with the Proverbs 31 woman. Real Life Moments is a similar resource for dads, emphasizing their overall significance to their families.
The book is divided into 52 life lessons. Each is followed by a short prayer and an action step that the reader is challenged to complete. Fox suggests that each life lesson could be meditated on and used as a weekly challenge, in which case the book could span a full year. Or, alternative, the reader could use the lessons on a daily basis and then review them over and over again.
With a price of less than $15.00, Real Life Moments would make a great stocking stuffer for any dad you know.
