Literature Pocket Review by Carol H. Knott

Grades 2-3
Folktales & Fairy Tales

This is an entertaining resource for young children and their parents to enjoy. While having fun with making mobiles and finger puppets, children enjoy eight different folk and fairy tales, including Henny Penny, The Frog Prince, and The Emperor's New Clothes.

The book is designed to be used to make reproductions so that each story and its corresponding project can be enjoyed over and over again.

While building the child's reading comprehension and writing abilities, the child (and in our case, the parent) also enjoys art and craft activities that help to reinforce the story and its lesson.

The stories are not too long for younger children, and even older children enjoy taking part in the projects that each story includes. There are fun pictures on each story page to appeal to the young eyes.

In our home, the children began their education with public school. Since homeschooling started for us a bit later, the thing that seemed to be most missed was the craft projects that supplemented the learning process. Evan-Moor's product, "Literature Pockets" has filled that void wonderfully. We have really enjoyed this product & will look for more products from Evan-Moor in the future.
