You may have seen the Getting To Know The World's Greatest Artists books either in your bookstore or local library, but now you can get the DVD companions to go with each book. The DVD that we are going to take a look at is about the famous modern artist named Andy Warhol.

In this 24-minute animated DVD, grades K-6 will find fun, humorous, yet fact-filled stories depicting the life of Andy Warhol, who was born to humble immigrants living in Pittsburgh, He started out as a sickly child and spent large amounts of time drawing and practicing the thing he loved most--art! As an adult he worked briefly as a commercial artist in New York City, and then his creative use of everyday objects helped people see art in a whole new way. There are plenty of photographs and original works of art to look at, along with an informative narration by a cartoon character named Andy.

This DVD was creative, fun to watch, and full of great information. Your children won't be disappointed when it is time to learn about Andy Warhol, and they may just ask for more of his work after viewing this DVD. They may even make their own pop art! What a great find! However, although I recommend this product, I thought the pricing was a bit steep at $29.95 for only 24 minutes. It may be worth it to look around to find places where you can buy at a discount price. It really is a good product in my opinion, just not at the price it is currently offered
