Storytime with the Millers Review by Lisa Barthuly and Family

By Mildred A. Martin
Green Pastures Press
HC 67, box 91-A
Mifflin, PA 17058

This book has got to be one of the best loved books in our family! The paperback cover is worn, and the pages dog eared, not from abuse, but USE !

These are wonderful, loving, family stories, full of character building lessons for all members of the family! My children just love The Millers!

This book has 12 stories, over 100 pages and each story is a favorite! They all have a Bible verse listed at the beginning that reinforces the concept of the lesson being taught within the story. "Timmy and the Sugar" is an all time favorite. Timmy Miller loves sugar, and when tempted with an open bag of sugar when alone in the kitchen, Timmy decides to sneak off with a WHOLE BOWL full. He is going to eat as much sugar as he wants! When he hears Mama coming (it doesn't matter how many times I read this one, the girls still squeal and hide under the covers when they know Timmy is about to get in trouble!), he gulps down the last few bites as not to get caught, but soon realizes he must tell Mama what he's done, as his tummy is aching! Another favorite is "The Best Way to Help" about how little Sharon Miller wants to help Mama get ready for company coming over, and ends up learning a lesson in disobedience. All the stories are truly wonderful, wholesome stories the whole family can enjoy together over, and over, and over - we certainly do! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Storytime with The Millers. It is EXCELLENT!
