Walking Like Jesus Did: Studies in the Character of Christ Review by Nancy Wagner

Walking Like Jesus Did is a serious book to help the reader recognize a follower of Jesus Christ and become a recognizable follower himself. The author submits that you can recognize a follower by two factors: does the person "obey Jesus's words" and does the person "walk as Jesus did"? Seventeen chapters tell the reader why and how to become a recognizable Christian. Topics include meekness, holiness, compassion, suffering, persevering, forgiving, praying, serving, and loving. The last two chapters deal with the cost of following Jesus and the reward of following Jesus. The author includes Scripture references to back up his ideas throughout the book.

The chapters are fairly short, normally about eight pages in length, and are followed by discussion questions. These are not easy questions; they require thought and would be great in a group-discussion setting.

I would recommend this book for an adult or older teen discipleship class. This is not an evangelistic tool to give someone who is not yet a Christian, but it is an excellent book for the Christian desiring to deepen his walk with Christ.
