This fun book brought an immediate smile to the face of my 2-year-old, and she sat through reading it over and over. The best part is that when you are tired of reading the book for the hundredth time, it is a fun and safe book for independent reading, even for the smallest children.

An oversized board book (8" x 9") that is sure to fascinate any toddler, this book also includes an interactive feature in a button to push that makes two prism-shaped lights flash. These lights not only help to attract a toddler's initial attention but also keep his attention much longer than a conventional board book. The lights are on the back cover of the book and protrude through holes in each page to form a portion of the scene.

On each set of pages, the story and accompanying illustrations focus on a different type of flashing lights children are likely to see. For instance, the first pages are about a carnival, and the flashing lights are part of the Ferris wheel. Next, a pair of animals is chasing lightning bugs, and so on.

The story does a very good job of always directing your toddler's attention back to God, the Creator, and attributes each of these lights to His handiwork. For example, "He made lightning bugs that fly right past your nose, each one with a twinkling, bright tail that glows." While the writing is fun and rhymes, it is kept short enough not to lose the attention of the young audience it addresses. The focus of the book is definitely the simple, fun illustrations and the flashing lights.

Priced at $12.99, this is probably a bit pricey to purchase for an everyday occasion, but I'm guessing there are many special occasions that would be suited for an investment in a high quality gift book for your child.
