And the Skylark Sings With Me: Adventures in Homeschooling and Community-Based Education was written by a homeschooling dad by the name of David Albert. In his book, Mr. Albert takes us on a journey of what it is like homeschooling his two talented daughters.

The Albert's are a "unschooling" family. Each one of his children have their own interests, and each one of those interests have been met by using resources and mentors they have found in their community. And the Skylark... is not written from a Christian point of view, but Mr. Albert has some great points when it comes to homeschooling, public education, testing, and people's reactions. I like this quote for parents who are having a difficult time trying to teach their children to read. "Support your kids in their passion for learning and give them the freedom to exercise it, and reading will take care of itself."

If you are interested in "unschooling" or are an "unschooler" yourself, check out this book. An even better book by David Albert is called Homeschooling and the Voyage of Self-Discovery: A Journey of Original Seeking. (I enjoyed this one more.)
