I have observed many magnificent classic paintings depicting scenes from scripture. While looking at them, I wished that I could fully understand and appreciate the artist's intentions. Small details that I do not notice could be enlightening. How can I learn form these works of art and teach my children their message? I have found a resource to help me! Artfully Teaching the Faith covers seventeen works of art, all of which are available for free download at the publisher's website.
This concise book approaches the masterpieces from their roots in the Catholic faith and shows how each is able to illustrate church doctrine. While Catholic believers will find special application for the discussion in this book, even non-Catholics will appreciate the new insights they will gain. The explanations are very clear, enlightening, and not too long. I suggest Artfully Teaching the Faith for anyone interested in studying classic religious masterpieces.
