Looking for some encouragement? It’s Just Around the Corner, in this book from Steve and Teri Maxwell!
Just Around the Corner, Vol. 2, is packed full of encouragement from Steve and Teri’s Dad’s & Mom’s Corners monthly e-newsletter articles, compiled for easy reading into this giant, almost 400 page book!
The topics range from prayer, contentment, parenting, homeschooling, marital relationships, leading our children to Christ, anger, Dads as leaders of their homes, practical helps for daily family life, and so much more!
While this reviewer doesn’t agree on every topic presented by the Maxwells, this is a great book for encouraging us as parents on a huge variety of topics from “Wise or Foolish Wives,“ to “Lawn Care,“ to helps for the homekeeper, Christmas, Leading your Family… the list really is too lengthy to include here. Suffice to say, you will find lots of encouragement here!
I would really recommend this title; it is an excellent read that not only encourages us as believing parents, but challenges us as well!

How many of you are on Steve and Terri Maxwell’s “Dad’s and Mom’s Corners” e-mail list? (I am! I am!) I have been on their e-mail list for quite a while and eagerly read every one.
What originally started out as a monthly encouragement article for their local homeschool support group continued as a newsletter even after they moved to a different area. Well, you know folks always hear about a good thing…over time, their newsletter became so popular, and mailing such an expense, that they decided to use the mode of e-mail to cut down on cost. That’s when it simply EXPLODED!
Because so many families are becoming aware of their e-newsletter everyday, there are many, many past issues that have been missed. Steve and Teri have taken the encouragement of many and followed the Lord’s lead to put about 5 years’ worth of past letters together in a book!
Since they both write their own letters in each issue…Steve to dad’s, Teri to mom’s…the book is also divided in half. Teri’s letters to moms makes up the first half of the book and Steve’s letters to dads, the second half. These are usually short and sweet letters, perfect for devotions. These pages are filled with grace and encouragement.
