Big on Bears
Lasting Lessons has some of the most fun, adorable and educational products around! Big on Bears is a "Mini-Fun Theme" Unit, for ages four to eight. These are a lot of fun! My three and six-year-old have had a great time with this "unit study" for youngins. They have learned lots of bear facts, played bear games, and the six-year-old has written her own bear story on her bear stationary. They have enjoyed planning for their bear tea party and making the "Cocoa the Bear" snack!
This Mini-Fun book also has fun crafts, literature suggestions, a great interactive wall display we all worked on together - even an original poem and story with reproducible pages. We used the stationary to put together a "bear scrapbook" for both children, for stories, spelling words, the games and crafts they made, and for the fun of making a bear cover for our book! This one is a big thumb's up - LOTS of fun, easy to use, and TONS OF SMILES.

Falling Into Colors
Lasting Lessons puts out such fun thematic units! Falling Into Colors is no exception! This is a literature-based study - with lots of fun activities intertwined throughout! Geared towards four to eight year olds, it is packed with great ideas - a great thematic unit to start the fall!
This unit is easy to follow, implement, and is based on six books: Ox-Cart Man, Barn Dance, Johnny Appleseed, The Pumpkin Blanket, The Biggest Pumpkin Ever, and Harvest Hues (a Lasting Lessons original pop-up-book provided in the unit). The book is divided accordingly - and activities include graphing, writing, vocabulary, spelling, math, reading, poetry, games, crafts, geography, the list goes on and on! We had a lot of fun making the applesauce - this was a VERY big hit in our family! Putting together the original pop up book was fun - decorating it was even more fun! This unit is packed with interesting learning activities that the whole family will enjoy doing together!

Frog Frenzy

Here is another great "Mini -Fun" themes book, from Lasting Lessons! Frog Frenzy is geared for ages 4 - 8, and is 'hopping' with fun activities! This was great fun--we even caught a frog in the backyard and gave him a nice little home in a mason jar for a few hours while we painted the pictures in our "Frog Choir" (reproducible pages) storybook!
This book has 'frog facts', crafts, math, science, spelling, an interactive chart & activities wall display, (this was fun!) literature suggestions, an original poem and short story--and more! The "frogs legs" snack was fun!
We also used the reproducible page of frog stationary, to make a "Frog Notebook" to write notes, short stories, new words for spelling and vocabulary, and of course frog drawings! 🙂

Penguins & Mittens
Penguins & Mittens is another great literature based unit study from Lasting Lessons! This unit is geared for four to eight year olds, easy to follow, implement, and is based on six books: Tacky the Penguin, Mr. Popper's Penguins, Cinderella Penguin, The Traveling Penguin (an original Lasting Lessons story provided in this unit), The Three Little Kittens (a Lasting Lessons version is also provided in the unit), and The Mitten. The book is divided accordingly with activities that include science experiments, winter treats, games, penguin facts, creative writing, creating a wall display, graphing, using a thermometer, and more - even recipes for Trail Mix, Popcorn Snowballs, Hot Fudge Sundaes, and Ice Cream Snowballs! (This is my kind of learning!) We had a fun taking the "home connection letter" stationary (for traditional classroom use) and making our own winter stationary for writing letters, and creative writing paper for our unit study notebook. Lasting Lessons even makes colorful borders and large tag board signs - easily made into a wonderful winter calendar (or used in the wall display) that is coordinated with the thematic unit. Lasting Lessons makes learning so much fun!
