Like other project books from Nomad Press, George Washington: 25 Great Projects You Can Build Yourself is a mixture of education and fun activities that are directly related to the topic. This book is a biography of George Washington that includes activities such as making a hornbook, a spyglass, a George Washington hat, and a cipher wheel. The activities will appeal to both boys and girls and will help make studying George Washington memorable.

Each activity in the book includes a supply list, an explanation, and step-by-step instructions. There are also boxes of vocabulary, or "words to know," scattered throughout the text. In addition to the typical information about birth, death, wars, and family, there are interesting explanations and facts. For example, did you know that George Washington was born on both February 11 and February 22? Did you know that by the time he became president he only had one of his own teeth? How did he eat? How about the fact that George Washington organized the first group of American spies? Read this book to find out more. It does contain some information about the sensitive topic of slavery but not in a graphic way.

George Washington: 25 Projects You Can Build Yourself would be perfect for any unit study on the founding fathers, George Washington, or the beginning of the United States. It would also be a nice resource for any other method of studying the United States, specifically the founding of the United States and the Revolutionary War. Since the text is written with subheadings and short paragraphs about each topic, you could easily pick and choose which parts to present, or you could read the whole book. Not surprisingly, this Nomad Press book does not disappoint. I highly recommend it.
