The 2010 Schoolhouse Planner from The Old Schoolhouse Magazine, covers the calendar year of July 2010 through June 2011. Inside are 600-plus pages of helps for your homeschooling endeavor. The folks at The Old Schoolhouse have covered anything and everything you could need for planning your school days.

Each month centers around a theme. For instance, March focuses on Writing and May focuses on Geography. One of my favorite sections is found in July, and centers on Bible study. It includes a Bible timeline (I've been looking for one of these!), a Bible "must know" list, and some links to other sources of information. Of course, although each month has a theme, there are lots of other things there too. For instance, there are some great recipes here in July (I can't wait to try all of these!), an article about Geography family fun which introduces geocaching (if you haven't tried it, you should - tons of fun!), and lots of home organizing tips.

In addition, there is a section of calendars; miscellaneous helpful homeschool information (multiplications tables, kitchen conversions, Latin roots, United States and Capitals just to name a few); and many, many useful homeschool and household forms (various schedules, grocery and menu planning helps, book report forms, transcript forms, household care forms, etc.)

Now that I have seen this resource, I don't have any idea how I have gotten along without it for so long. I am excited about using all these resources in my homeschool and I know that it will save me countless hours of time trying to dig up these types of helps on my own. This planner is so well organized that it does not require a lot of time to find what you need. Especially helpful are the links provided to related information on the web and related curriculum items in the Schoolhouse Store. This really makes the process of pulling together your resources for a subject so easy.

Whether you are a brand new homeschool parent or a seasoned pro, your first purchase for the school year should be the 2010 Schoolhouse Planner. For only $39.00 you get all the valuable information you need to make your school year a success.
