Want to be a time traveler? Just open the cover of Explore Ancient Greece! and you'll take a trip back to 800-31 BC! Have you ever wondered where Ancient Greece was? Maybe you never realized just how much of an impact Ancient Greece had on modern times. Have you ever made an Archimedes Pi(e)? When you have the recipe you can make a delicious treat and learn all about an important mathematical number! Do you know what Ancient Greece had to do with the Olympics, Achilles' heel, or the lost city of Atlantis? You can find out the answers to those questions and much more when you begin your exploration!

Teachers and Parents will be thrilled to know that students will learn over 60 vocabulary words and have instructions for 25 great projects, activities and experiments! Students will be happy to know that this is not a boring history book!

"Explore Ancient Greece!" is so much more than reading about history, with this book, readers will live history! There are jokes, craft projects, cool facts, games, "then and now" comparisons, comic strips and neat drawings. Readers will discover the meanings to words such as Papyrus (paper made from pressing a reed plant that is also called papyrus) and Frieze (a band of carved artwork around the outside of a building that usually tells a story or shows a scene.) Comic strips make learning history interesting while the maps show empires such as those of Alexander The Great. Split into seven interesting chapters' readers will cover everything from homes of Ancient Greeks to Gods, Goddesses, and Myths.

All of the projects, experiments and activities in this book were easy and fun to do. The only thing I would change is that the book uses BCE / CE (Before Common Era / Common Era) instead of BC (Before Christ) and AD (Anno Domini) and explains BCE / CE by saying, "The beginning of the Common Era is marked by the birth of Jesus and begins with the year 1." I would recommend this book to readers and students who are studying this time period or who just enjoy learning about history and doing fun projects!
