Readers will discover the meanings to words such as Papyrus (paper made from pressing a reed plant that is also called papyrus) and Frieze (a band of carved artwork around the outside of a building that usually tells a story or shows a scene.) Comic strips make learning history interesting while the maps show empires such as those of Alexander The Great. Split into seven interesting chapters' readers will cover everything from homes of Ancient Greeks to Gods, Goddesses, and Myths.

All of the projects, experiments and activities in this book were easy and fun to do. The only thing I would change is that the book uses BCE / CE (Before Common Era / Common Era) instead of BC (Before Christ) and AD (Anno Domini) and explains BCE / CE by saying, "The beginning of the Common Era is marked by the birth of Jesus and begins with the year 1." I would recommend this book to readers and students who are studying this time period or who just enjoy learning about history and doing fun projects!
