Read and Understand Stories and Activities, Grade K

Read and Understand Stories and Activities is a workbook that contains 23 stories with several activities following each story. There is an introduction that outlines how you should use this book with your students, as well as a "Steps to Follow" section that gives tips on how to introduce the story and enhance the learning experience.

The stories are short, with just four pages each. You can cut them out and make little books with each one. At the beginning of each story, there is a short dictionary that has different words contained in the story as well as a picture to go with it. Following the story, there are four activities for your student to complete. They include dot-to-dot, cut and paste, drawing, and matching, to name a few. The activities reinforce the story and help students develop reading skills. This product was not created for homeschoolers but could certainly supplement any reading program you might have.

My five-year-old son and I enjoyed reading the stories and completing the activities. He liked the cutting and pasting activities the most. The one thing I did not really like was that I had to make copies of the pages so we could complete the activities (since they were printed on the front and back).

While this was a fun workbook for my son to complete I do not think it was worth the price they charge for it. You can find plenty of free pages just like these on the Internet.
