Ohana Swimwear Review by Heidi Strawser

I was very excited when I was offered the opportunity to review a modest swimsuit from Ohana Swimwear. As the mother of a 14-year-old daughter, I have found that it is amazingly difficult, if not impossible, to find a good-quality, modest swimsuit that a teenage girl will actually like and want to wear. My daughter and I had a fun time perusing Ohana's online store. Finally, we decided on separates; she selected the Wailua tank-style top (in pink sunset) and the junior board shorts (in black).

If you've ever gone swimsuit shopping, I'm sure you will agree with me when I say that it's not easy. I think swimsuits, since they are usually snug-fitting, often run small, and it's hard to know what size to try on or purchase. With Ohana, it was easy! I had anticipated ordering a swimsuit online to be even more of a challenge than shopping in a store. We measured and compared to the size charts on the website, but I was still very confused. However, Ohana was easy to work with. When I shared my concerns with the company, they offered to send various sizes of both the top and the shorts for my daughter to try. They even included a postage-paid return envelope so that we could easily return the pieces that didn't fit.

My daughter loves this swimsuit! The tank top is similar to the top of a tankini, yet it is extra-long in length. Not only is it perfect for people with longer torsos, but it is also all-covering in that no skin shows when wearing this top. It is fully lined in front, has a modest scoop neck, and stays in place during normal wear and swimming (in other words, it doesn't ride up and expose skin). The shorts are plenty long (4 inseam, and are available in misses sizes, also, with a longer inseam length). They have a modesty flap with drawstring, a side pocket, and white stitching.

So far, the suit has held up very well under normal wear. We haven't seen any color fading as a result of chlorine or sunshine. This is a well-made swimsuit. At the outset, I thought the prices were a bit high; but as we've received, worn, and used this swimsuit, I've been constantly reminded of the phrase you get what you pay for. Compared to department store prices, Ohaha's suits are very competitively priced, and well worth the money. You and/or your daughter(s) will be proud to wear these swimsuits, and won't have to worry about being immodest. I would highly recommend Ohana swimwear, and will be checking their website the next time we are in need of swimwear.
