Vincent B. Farese authored the poem "O Flag: Saga of Courage" and was inspired to provide a chronological overview of the National Flag of the United States of America, past and present. This full-color poster is available in three different sizes: 20x14 inches, 24x18 inches, and 36x24 inches, each available in either a vertical or horizontal format. Twenty-eight versions of the American flag are represented, each with a historical description from the Flag Research Center and a corresponding date. In addition to the visual representation of the flag's changes over the years, the dates offer a quick history lesson. Various historical facts are included among the flags, including the bombardment of Fort Sumter and the sinking of the USS Maine. Though not specifically designed for homeschools, this poster would certainly complement a study of American history.

The bottom of the poster includes the entire poem "O Flag: Saga of Courage." This beautifully written poem invokes an appropriate desire for allegiance to the flag. References to many battles and victories beautifully capture the courage of Americans. References to prayer and God's blessing bring to mind a reverent respect of our heavenly Father and of the flag, the symbol of our nation.

This poster offers tremendous educational value and is reasonably priced. Although our wall space is at a premium, "O Flag: Saga of Courage" is a welcome addition to our home, as it will be in yours. This product can help to educate and captivate our children, who will be our future leaders.
