332nd Fighter Group--Tuskegee Airmen is a book about the amazing feats of the airborne fighting group comprising all African-American fighters who never lost a single bomber under escort in WWII. This book does a good job of retelling the struggles and triumphs of this unique group of men.

The book is set up so that the reader doesn't get overwhelmed with all the information. You don't get the feeling that facts are just being shoved down your throat. There are sidebar notes and pictures that help you to understand the whole story. The book goes into detail about the different types of planes used in the war at that time, the discrimination the fighters faced, and how they proved to everyone that they were not only capable but exceptional. The appendix includes a chart comparing four different fighting squadrons as well as details on each of the fighter planes shown in the middle color section of the book.

I would use this book in my home school as an excellent resource. I would read it completely myself and any additional books that are mentioned. Then I would teach my children about this amazing group of men. I feel this book is an invaluable asset to any homeschool library!
