Little Nibbles Reading Program

"A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y and Z. Now I know my ABCs. Next time won't you sing with me?" This familiar and important song is the first of ten lessons in the Little Nibbles Reading Program. This reading program is a complete curriculum to help a child learn to read. The lessons come in a three ring binder and have everything you need to complete each lesson. All a parent must provide is the love, the desire, and the five minutes a day required to teach this program. The program is based on the idea that humans learn best with small sections, or little nibbles.

The program's ten steps should not be rushed through; go at the child's pace. If your child takes longer on one of the steps, that is fine. Stay relaxed and keep doing the step for five minutes every day until the child has that nibble down. Then go to the next one. Just be patient; they will learn it. You will be amazed at how much they actually learn and remember in just five minutes.

My son enjoyed this program, mostly because we spent only five minutes a day doing the lessons. My son was five almost six when we started using the program, and we had been through several reading programs that just did not work for him. We were both frustrated. I was afraid to try any more programs because he was getting so discouraged. But after the first couple of times using Little Nibbles, he would run and get the binder when I said it was time to practice reading. I would recommend this program to anyone who is trying to teach a child to read. The program also fits in well with a busy homeschool family's schedule.

The only addition to this program that I would suggest is a chart or some other way to track the child's progress. I believe that this program would fit in with most homeschool styles because each lesson is complete and takes only five minutes a day. Little Nibbles is affordable and complete, and it has made my son a very happy little boy. So if you are looking for a program to teach reading, check it out.
